Faqs
Why do I need hygiene appointments?
Bacteria create a layer called biofilm on our teeth. They are sneaky and have evolved so we can’t see them, they’ve learned to camouflage! If left too long, it causes issues like bleeding gums, bad breath, loose teeth etc.
Do I need to visit a dentist?
We still recommend clients see a dentist once per year for an exam. With your consent, we can send them an assessment letter as well as any xrays so they are kept in the loop! If you don’t have a dentist, we can recommend some local options.
What happens if I am unable to visit a dentist?
We strongly recommend regular visits with a dentist but you will not be denied preventive dental care if you are unable to visit a dentist for whatever reason.
I haven't had a cleaning in years. Is that ok?
You are always welcome here, we love to help you get back on track! We offer a judgement free zone and will help you to feel great about your teeth again!
Am I candidate for professional teeth whitening?
You may be a candidate for whitening if you have healthy teeth and gums, no crowns/veneers/fillings on front teeth (only natural teeth brighten), are over the age of 16 and are not pregnant or breast feeding. If you have heavy tartar built up or haven't seen a dental professional in a while, we may recommend a professional cleaning or a check up with a dentist prior to treatment!
Do you offer direct billing?
We do! We will even co-ordinate with more than one insurance company. The only covered service that is not direct billed are sports-guards. If you need help understanding your insurance, we are always here to help.
I don’t understand my insurance, will you help?
Insurance can be a tricky thing to navigate but it’s part of our daily language. If you bring in your policy breakdown, we’ll be able to de-mystify it for you!
Do I have to have xrays?
Xrays help hygienists to see root anatomy, bone levels and if there are any sneaky cavities we don’t want to disturb. However, if you are concerned about getting xrays we will always work with you to determine if they are a definite necessity or if we can delay taking them.
Will xrays need to be retaken at my dentists office?
We will send a copy of your x-rays to your dentist for assessment as needed.
